Allstate Sells Technology Operation

The Allstate Corporation says has reached an agreement to sell Integration Services Division (ISD), a division of Northbrook Services, Inc. (NBS) to Computer Generated Solutions, Inc. (CGS). NBS is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Allstate.

ISD provides technology solutions including application development, networking services and enterprise systems management.

CGS, which is based in New York, is a leading provider of information technology services to businesses worldwide. Founded in 1984 as a systems integration and management consulting firm, CGS enables businesses to minimize their risks and increase productivity by implementing technology solutions. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Allstate says it decided to sell ISD as part of its efforts to focus on its core insurance businesses. ``We are pleased that CGS will be buying our operation,'' said Frank Pollard, senior vice president and chief information officer of Allstate. ``It means that ISD customers can continue to expect the same high level of service and satisfaction.''

ISD has approximately 60 employees with offices in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas and Indianapolis. Allstate said it would close ISD's Dallas and Indianapolis locations, prior to closing the deal with CGS.
