Allstate Selects Xpedior for Project Management Intranet Application

Chicago-based Xpedior Incorporated, a provider of electronic business services, is helping Allstate Insurance Company develop an Intranet application "to better manage projects within its property and casualty organization," it says. Allstate will use the application to "improve its efficiency and management of projects by replacing its traditional manual, paper-based project management system with an Intranet-based tool."

Xpedior has been awarded the contract to develop this Intranet application. The tool will bring project reporting, automated workflow and knowledge sharing capabilities to the organization.

``We have revised and refined our project management processes over the past year to incorporate considerable rigor, which has yielded improved quality and, in turn, increased capacity. We were very pleased with the results and are now looking to bring technology to bear on those processes for even greater gains,'' said Andy Rieder, Allstate's assistant vice president - compliance. ``We began working with Xpedior in late 1999 to analyze our new business processes and design an Intranet solution that would support the process and our people. The collaborative capabilities we'll have in the new environment will accelerate our projects and improve quality at the same time. Xpedior has been commissioned to develop the new system, which is expected to be delivered in October, 2000.''

The Intranet application will be available to the property and casualty division of Allstate and will manage all discretionary, maintenance and compliance projects, which are projected to be approximately 2,000 annually.

Cindy Pogrund, vice president of Xpedior Midwest, said, ``The Intranet application we're developing for Allstate is a prime example of how new technologies enable efficiency, speed and communication gains in existing processes. The tool will provide vast project tracking and reporting improvements enabling Allstate to maintain a competitive edge.''
