- Discourse Modes — An ALife-WebGuide smart bot can be used as a conversational bot (where it can answer questions about your company and its products and/or engage in a chit-chat conversation with an user), a recommendation bot (where the bot can answers questions, gather information, and recommend the best product suited to a customer's needs based on the information obtained), or a quiz bot (where the bot can teach a lesson and then give a quiz to see if the user has learned enough to move on).
- Memory — An ALife-WebGuide smart bot has the ability to store information in its memory that it can refer to during a session. The bot also understands context - for example, it can associate the correct antecedent with a pronoun.
