AIG Joins SABRE Group's Leisure Alliance

American International Group, one of the largest underwriters of commercial and industrial coverages in the world, has joined The SABRE Group's Leisure Alliance. The SABRE Group specializes in the electronic distribution of travel and travel-related services around the globe.

Under terms of the agreement, AIG will work with the Leisure Alliance to expand the automated distribution of travel insurance through the SABRE computer reservations system. According to SABRE, travel insurance is one of the fastest-growing supplemental products being distributed electronically in the travel industry.

AIG joins MasterCard International as a participant in The SABRE Group Leisure Alliance, which brings together suppliers from across the travel industry to create innovative ways for travel agents to bring products, services and the leisure traveler together.

The SABRE Group will provide travel agents fully automated access to AIG's travel insurance program, AIG Assist. In many countries outside North America, AIG member companies will be the preferred or exclusive travel insurance provider available in the SABRE system.
