AIG And Winterthur Establish Joint Offices In New York, Chicago and San Francisco
The American International Group, Inc. (AIG) and Winterthur Life Insurance Company have established joint offices in New York, Chicago and San Francisco. The New York office will serve as the alliance's global coordination center for North America and will handle all marketing and sales for the East Coast. The Chicago and San Francisco offices will provide the same marketing and sales facilities but for the Central and West Coast regions, respectively.
"The growth of international business activity has created new demands and opportunities for our clients, as well as for the AIG-Winterthur alliance," said Gregory Arms, Senior Vice President and Director of AIG's Group Management Division. "This new structure will enable us to respond to the challenges facing the global employee benefit market well into the next century."
Founded in 1991, the AIG-Winterthur alliance operates in 96 countries, managing over 40 employee benefit and pension programs to multinational clients worldwide.
"This strengthens the alliance's commitment to quality service and new product development and reinforces AIG and Winterthur's support to a long and prosperous future for the alliance," said Urs Zwicky, Senior Vice President and Head of Worldwide Employee Benefits for Winterthur International.
AIG and Winterthur established a London joint office in 1996. The London office coordinates marketing activities in Europe in close cooperation with Winterthur's home office in Winterthur, Switzerland, where technical, underwriting and administration functions are centralized for European multinationals.
