Source: ACORD
ACORDThe <%=company%> Life Standards Committee recently approved the formation of a working group to investigate defining transaction interfaces. "This is an exciting project for us at ACORD," explained Tana Sabatino, life group manager, ACORD. "It builds off the success ACORD OLifE has seen on the desktop, taking it to a new level."

ACORD president and CEO Gregory A. Maciag said, "By defining transaction interfaces, ACORD will now be able to deliver standards that will effectively support integration in the back office of the enterprise."

The working group is being co-chaired by Richard Burris, product development manager, Cybertek; and Cameron Cosgrove, vice president, information services, Pacific Life. Cosgrove said, "This is a strategic initiative because of the opportunity to define standard transactions that access our back office administrative systems. The pay-off will be the ability to surface those transactions on a Web page."

In addition to defining interface standards, the working group will take into account the technology platforms these standards will be implemented on, ensuring that they can be applied utilizing the technologies in the marketplace today.

The first meeting of the transaction interface working group is scheduled for August 16-17, 1999, and is sponsored by Pacific Life at their Newport Beach, CA facilities.
