ACORD Conference To Highlight 'Whole New World' Of Technology

N/Ath annual <%=company%> Conference on technology-related business issues and opportunities in the insurance industry will take place May 17-19 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The conference features thirty seven technology workshops, pre-conference sessions on object technology and technical walk-throughs of ACORD products. The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers will conduct a one-day pre-conference seminar entitled "Guerrilla Sales Training for Insurance Producers".

Keynote speakers at the "A Whole New World" conference will be Dr. Robert Kriegel and Bran Ferren. Kreigel, author of the best-selling 'Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers', holds that businesses must give up their outmoded beliefs and practices - their "sacred cows" - if they are to survive and thrive. Ferren, executive VP of the Walt Disney Company's engineering subsidiary, is an authority on harnessing creativity for change.

ACORD President and CEO, Gregory A. Maciag will moderate a town meeting of chief information officers from four major insurance companies on critical strategic issues, such as the Internet, object technology and electronic commerce.

Maciag will also present the EDI Achievement Awards in general session on the Tuesday, recognizing the notable accomplishments and growth in EDI by insurance companies and software providers.

ACORD will also launch its latest Automation & Interface Survey results at the Conference. This biennial survey, conducted since 1987, provides the industry with benchmark statistics and trending in the areas of agency automation and electronic data interchange with carriers.
