ACE Names Head of European Reinsurance, Primary Units

ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd. Has named James Hooban to the newly-created position of managing director of ACE European Markets Insurance Limited and ACE European Markets Reinsurance Limited (ACE European Markets), subsidiaries of ACE Bermuda in Dublin, Ireland.

Hooban comes to ACE European Markets from Munich American RiskPartners where he managed the global risk management department and was helped to develop their international business. He has also held senior positions with American International Group and Northwestern National Risk Management Services.

Pierre Samson, senior vice president of ACE Bermuda's Tailored Risk Solutions (TRS) division, said Hooban will spearhead ACE initiatives to develop the TRS division's portfolio in the European Community. Samson said ACE sees growing interest in more sophisticated approaches to insurance and finance-related risk solutions in the European market.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Hooban holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
