Innovative Insurance Start-Up, Metromile, Goes Live With OnBase In The Hyland Cloud To Automate Modern Automobile Insurance Processes

Cloud-based solution and OnBase Ready for Guidewire accelerator help pay-per-mile automobile insurer streamline claims processes

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) - Metromile, the pioneer in pay-per-mile car insurance in the U.S., has gone live with theOnBase enterprise information platform, hosted in the Hyland Cloud, to automate its claims processes and resolve claims faster. The modern-day automobile insurer which created a revolutionary new model of car insurance for low-mileage drivers, will integrate OnBase with Guidewire ClaimCenter® and Smart Communications™ , combining three best-of-breed insurance solutions in the cloud.

Using the agile OnBase implementation methodology aligned with Guidewire, Metromile installed OnBase, Guidewire and Thunderhead in parallel within its claims practice. The OnBase integration for Guidewire ClaimCenter helped shorten claims processes from initial claims receipt first notice of loss (FNOL) through resolution and settlement.

“Metromile is a growing and innovative startup whose modern systems and smart technology are enhanced by a cloud-based enterprise information platform,” said Cara McFarlane, global insurance portfolio marketing manager at Hyland. “By implementing OnBase in the cloud and integrating it with Metromile’s other cloud-based platforms, Metromile reduced its overall implementation timeline and costs, and experienced a lower total cost of ownership.”

OnBase hosted in the Hyland Cloud provides the full functionality of an enterprise information platform on mature and secure cloud infrastructure that incorporates enterprise content management (ECM), case management, business process management (BPM), records management, capture, secure file sharing, and integration accelerators with core insurance products like Guidewire InsuranceSuite™.

“The OnBase integration for Guidewire ClaimCenter aligns with our contemporary business model and will help us deliver solutions that meet the needs of modern drivers,” said Luke Harris, director of claims at Metromile. “The enterprise scale and flexibility within OnBase also helps us drive additional efficiencies in areas outside of our claims practice, including human resources and other document-intensive administrative processes.”
