DIMA Collaborates With The Europe CPCU Society Chapter At The 2015 European Insurance Forum

The Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA) has announced a special collaboration with the Europe CPCU Society Chapter at the European Insurance Forum 2015 (EIF2015).

Malvern, PA (PRWEB) - The Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA) has announced a special collaboration with the Europe CPCU Society Chapter at the European Insurance Forum 2015 (EIF2015).

Running since 1999, EIF is a well-established event for senior executives from the Irish and international re/insurance sector, where some of the industry’s biggest brands and key decision makers meet, share knowledge and expertise, and network and do business with peers and clients. It is the signature event in the DIMA (Dublin International Insurance & Management Association) annual calendar.

The CPCU Society, an affiliate of The Institutes, is a (U.S.-based) community of credentialed property-casualty insurance professionals who have earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation and who promote excellence through ethical behaviour and continuing education. The CPCU designation is conferred by The Institutes.

In support of EIF2015, CPCU Society members will attend the event; The Institutes’ president and chief executive officer, Peter Miller, will participate on the leadership panel; and the CPCU Society will host a breakout session on the “Benefits of Continuing Education.”

Sarah Goddard, chief exec of DIMA, said, “We are delighted to welcome and be able to work with the Europe CPCU Society Chapter at the European Insurance Forum 2015. We are particularly honoured to have Peter Miller join us and participate on our leadership panel discussion. The panel is made up of leaders in our industry representing a number of perspectives. We should not overlook the role of training and education in building a sustainable global re/insurance market and of a local business environment within which our members can operate efficiently.”

Over the years, Ireland has built a world-leading professionalism in this business—Ireland has been identified as one of the top ten reinsurance centres in the world—and there are several third-level courses in universities across Ireland, both undergraduate and post-graduate, that continue to enhance the professional community here. Conversely, the sector continues to provide valuable employment for those graduates. According to the Society of Actuaries, Ireland has more actuaries per capita than anywhere else in the world.

“This is a sector that requires skills and education at the highest level and thereby contributes to building Ireland’s knowledge economy,” according to Goddard.

Peter Miller, CPCU, The Institutes’ president and CEO, said, “I am very much looking forward to meeting our CPCU Society delegates in Dublin at EIF2015. This event ties in well with the CPCU Society’s commitment to providing resources, educational programs and leadership opportunities that attract talent and enable individuals to expand their technical insurance skills and business capabilities in order to improve the overall performance of the insurance industry while adhering to the highest ethical standards. In our interconnected global industry, it is important that we lead the way to ensure we raise standards wherever our professionals are based.”
