Michigan Basic Chooses Insurity's Policy, Claims And Reporting Software

Hartford, CN - Michigan Basic Property Insurance Association has selected ChoicePoint's Insurity to provide policy administration, claims and reporting services. Michigan Basic will implement Insurity's Policy Decisions, Claims Decisions and Reporting Decisions software to manage its homeowners, residential fire, crime and commercial property business.

According to Kay Robinson, manager of information systems and support for Michigan Basic, a new service vendor needed to meet several key criteria; their technology had to run on the Microsoft .NET platform, use XML and be fully Web-enabled. While Insurity fulfilled all these criteria, according to Robinson, Insurity's people tipped the scale.

"It's a people business, and we were very impressed by their people, beginning with Insurity's sales team," Robinson said. "They really listened, understood our needs and they presented their offerings as a cohesive solution to our business problems. It was a wonderful experience."

She also praised Insurity's work during the process of defining business requirements. "Their people knew so much about claims and policy administration and guided us every step of the way. It was a very positive experience all the way through," she said.

And the technology was equally notable.

"The functionality of Claims Decisions' workflow and messaging are features that were impressive," Robinson added.

"It's a tight, all-inclusive package that will give us straight-through processing and consistent handling from start to finish. Policy Decisions was equally impressive, boosting our efficiency from agency submission to built-in underwriting rules. The only manual intervention required will be for risks flagged by the system as exceptional.
